Advertisement of the Kinston Peanut Company from the October 7, 1905 issue of the Kinston Free Press. Proprietors are T.B. Brown & Son.
The T.B. Brown mentioned in the ad appears to be Thomas Bradley Brown (December 25, 1850 – September 1, 1920). Thomas has different occupations listed on each census record – in 1900 his occupation seems to be “barkeeper,” in 1910 & 1920 he’s a grocery store merchant. His death certificate lists “merchant.”

I believe Thomas was my great grandfather. I am doing some family tree searching, which has led me here. My father’s family were from Kinston. His father, Albert Clifton Brown, Sr was the son of a Thomas Bradley Brown. And I remember my father talking about the store that his father owned. I wish I had a picture of him to post.

Hi Mary – how great! This probably is your great-grandfather
. I’ll take a look and see if I have any other information about your family.
